AT THE FOOT OF THE PYRENEES

4,000 hectares of vineyards between the plains and the mountains. 28 wineries that make a difference. 15 grape varieties that love this land and 268 wines that surprise. Somontano. Character, strength and passion for work since 1984.

Located in the heart of the province of Huesca and at the foot of the Pyrenees, Somontano is a privileged place with the perfect conditions for the production of great wines.

For all these reasons, from its centenary tradition allied with innovation, with the milestone of the birth of the Designation of Origin in 1984 and with the values of love for the land, character, excellence, non-conformism, origin and passion for work guiding its path, Somontano is synonymous with quality… and magic.

OUR HEADQUARTERS

SAN JULIÁN AND SANTA LUCÍA COMPLEX

The San Julián and Santa Lucía Complex is the ideal starting point to discover the unique character and magic of the Designation of Origin and its wineries.

Located in Barbastro, the capital of Somontano, it is made up of three emblematic buildings in the city: the bullring, the old hospital of San Julián and what was once a Renaissance church. Since 1999, the three floors of the old hospital have housed the headquarters of the Regulatory Council of the Designation of Origin and its Wine Space, which is visited by thousands of people.

The wine tourism offer of the headquarters is completed with the restaurant “Trasiego” and its gastrobar “La Trastienda del Trasiego”, located on the ground floor of the building. The Complex is, without a doubt, the ideal first stage in a trip to Somontano in which to live a unique experience through its territory, wineries and establishments of the Somontano Wine Route, a product club whose headquarters are also in this historic site.

WINE SPACE

THE NERVE CENTER OF WINE TOURISM IN SOMONTANO

The Wine Space is the nerve centre of wine tourism in Somontano.

Located on the first floor of the headquarters of the Designation of Origin, it is the place to discover in first person all that Somontano has to offer travellers through its wineries and territory.

A large circular room shows, through a panoramic video, the journey of a photographer to this land with the soul of wine. It also invites to deepen, in an experiential way, the knowledge of the Somontano wine culture through a game of aromas and different touch screens.

Its second room is the ideal place to take part in the numerous wine-related activities organised by the Somontano Designation of Origin.

RACKING

LOVE AND DEVOTION FOR COOKING
